App privacy
The app stores nothing about you unless you turn on delay alerts — and then only a code issued to your app installation, plus the train you asked about.

There is no account
No sign-up, no login, no email address, no phone number. You cannot create an account in this app because there is nothing to create one for. Your pinned train and your language choice are stored on your phone and never sent to us.
The app never asks for your location
The thing being tracked is the train, and its position comes from the railway's own equipment through our servers. Your phone contributes nothing to that, so the app requests no location permission at all — not while in use, not in the background. If a future version ever needs one, it will ask you at the moment it needs it and explain why.
If you turn on delay alerts
To send a notification, we have to remember that some phone wants to hear about some train. So we store exactly that:
- A push token — a long code that Google or Apple issues to your app installation. It is not your device ID, not your phone number, and it stops working the moment you uninstall the app.
- The train you asked to be told about, and when you asked.
That is the entire record. It is not linked to a name, an email address, a location, or anything you have looked at. Which alerts you opened, when you used the app, and what you searched for are not recorded.
Deleting it
Four ways, three of which need nothing from you:
- Uninstall the app. Google or Apple tells us the code is dead the next time we try to use it, and we delete the record then.
- Turn off alerts for a train in the app — that record is deleted immediately.
- “Forget this device” in the app's More tab deletes every record for your installation at once.
- Do nothing. A record we have not successfully sent to in 90 days is deleted automatically.
If you would rather ask a human, email [email protected]. You do not need to prove who you are, because we do not know who you are — tell us and we will confirm when it is done.
Advertising and analytics
If and when the app carries ads, they come from Google AdMob, which collects an advertising identifier from your device — a separate thing from the push token above, and one you can reset or limit in your phone's settings. Ads will never appear on the live tracking screen. Until ads are switched on, the app ships without an advertising SDK, and this page will be updated the day that changes.
Where the train data comes from
Everything the app shows comes from our own servers, which record the movements of trains, not of people. How that record is collected is on the data page.
